I can't help but share this. This was on Morning Edition (NPR) this morning. I'm less than encouraged that some of these future leaders of the free world were disappointed that J. K. Rowling was their commencement speaker. I'm not a Potter fan, but goodness...

Just read Rowling's commencement address. It was VERY good. She talked about the importance and usefulness of failure and adversity. Then she spoke about the power of imagination - the kind of imagination that means we can identify with others' hurts and pains. I thought it was a very good talk.

I just read the actual speech too. Yeah, REAL good. The same Hahvahd grads who were superficial enough to worry about WHO was speaking would be well-served to listen to WHAT she was saying. I know I took something away from it.
